Day 9
My mom and dad are visiting and she is SO stoked about that. (So am I.) Mom came in at 7:30 this morning and swept her away so I could go back to sleep. Thanks mom!!
Mid-morning, we all sat down to eat. I put her in her high chair and I cut a banana for her–didn’t want her to feel left out. She knew what to do! It’s so hard to be hands-off with her. I worry that she’ll bite too big a piece in her excitement. She did, but she spit it right out. Gil Rapley, can you hear me? š
Early evening, I cut a piece of mango for her. I kept the skin on because I’ve found that it makes it easier for her to pick things up. It is pure torture for this child when she really wants something and it keeps sliding out of her little hands!
And the mango. Oh the mango. Mango heaven. She has never been so thrilled before. She was very focused on biting/chewing/sucking every last bit of paradise out of that slice. She gagged when she ambitiously tried to get the whole piece in, but she figured it out. That’s what BLW is about, I think.
There was a piece of chicken on her tray too. She was unphased.
The mango was so sweet, I hope it was ok for Sugarpie! If you disagree, don’t let her hear you say it. She might slap you upside the head with a sticky hand.
