Day 5
WARNING: If you are bothered by fecal matters, shall we say, please skip over today’s post (and stop being such a prude).
I have heard that diaper habits change pretty dramatically once a baby starts solids. So I was worried that Georgia, not being one to soil her tiny hiney daily, might fall prey to further intestinal strike. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about, but the doctor doesn’t breathe the same air as I do.
Sugarpie, despite her delicate girliness and sunshine breath, can torture us for days with nuclear farts if she doesn’t, um, evacuate herself. I shudder to think what might happen to the paint in our house should she extend her intervals.
(She is SO gonna hate me for this. But to live in this household, she’s gotta learn to talk about her poopin.’ It’s kind of a Parzen family favorite topic.)
To get to the point without further a-poo, I fed her prunes. I made home made oatmeal cereal which is by far tastier than the rice cereal. All I did was grind up oats in a coffee grinder and cook them with water for about 10 minutes. I added a little breast milk and stirred in the prunes.
True BLW would probably have me letting her chew on a whole prune. That would great, but I’m not sure where to go about finding prunes that are fit for babies. I’ll look into it, unless anyone out there already knows!
I loaded the spoon and she seemed to really enjoy it! When I held the spoon close to her to get her to grab it, she instead opened her mouth and wanted me to put it there. I did a few times, but I encouraged her to do it herself.
Not sure how much was swallowed but time will tell…let’s just hope it’s not too much time.
I love your new blog and I love these posts! Keep ’em coming!
